Professor Sak's Disclaimer
My surf-forecasting shtick started as an E-mailing for
my friends who would always ask me So, do you think there are gonna be waves soon?
I got tired of having to send so many responses to individual people, so I started
E-mailing my predictions en masse. I always seemed to forget someone or someone
would forget to check their E-mail and miss out on a good session- bummer. When
Brent offered to post my predictions online, it made sense to me
I could send one
message and get it to as many people as were interested. After a while, friends told
their friends, and a lot of people came to know of and use my predictions.
That said, I remind you that this whole deal is meant for my friends
but is totally open to everyone. My friends understand that I am not a professional
weather-wind-wave-ologist, but I have been observing the models and maps for years and
have a pretty good idea if there are going to be waves or not in the near future. I
cannot calculate my accuracy or reliability, but I am usually in the ballpark, often hit
the nail on the head, and my friends are stoked, so I keep at it. I try to keep
things pretty general so as not to over-hype swells and conditions, and will make mistakes
from time to time. Just understand that if my call is incorrect, I am missing out on
surf and bummed too.
So, for best results, I suggest your best bet is to use this prediction as a
heads-up and keep your eyes on local weather sources and surf reports
